We take every care to ensure that the therapists that work for us at our Havens have the appropriate qualifications, necessary experience and understand the issues of Visitors affected by breast cancer. We do not take on newly qualified therapists.

All of our therapists are very experienced professionals with an excellent track record, and most have worked with people with cancer before. Our therapists need to have empathy for people experiencing breast cancer. Some of them have an additional healthcare qualification such as medicine or nursing. All are members of the appropriate professional body and have current professional indemnity insurance. They all follow nationally recommended guidelines for clinical governance including regular clinical supervision, and professional updates within the Breast Cancer Haven organisation.

Feedback from Haven Visitors shows an overwhelmingly positive response to the use of complementary therapies in improving their response and the perceived effectiveness of conventional treatment. We continue to initiate and conduct our own research projects to further the evidence base for integrated approach to healthcare in cancer treatment.

Our staff regularly participate in professional conferences and talks. We always welcome visits from the medical community and hold open days at the Haven to demonstrate the services we offer.
